It is an asset to have at least two years of postsecondary education or training, or working experience in related fields. However, other life experiences will be considered. Students are made aware that they may need to complete this postsecondary education prior to being accepted to register with a regulatory body (currently not in Ontario).

All students are eligible but not required to register with CTCMPAO under the student class during their enrolment at OCTCM. However, in order to continue to practice between graduation and registration with the CTCMPAO, most students will choose to do so. Students will be responsible for any fees required by the CTCMPAO for this registration as well as additional requirements including a police records check, application fees and insurance coverage. See here for more information: https://www.ctcmpao.on.ca/applicant/student-class/

The requirements for registration to the profession are determined by the granting body, which is independent from Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Students are encouraged to obtain the specific requirements directly from the CTCMPAO body before enrolling.
