OCTCM – Not just an ordinary school
As a leader in the education of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Canada, the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been known to host international conferences.
These conferences are aimed to unite the TCM scholars/practitioners around the globe. The conferences provide TCM experts with a platform to meet and network with like-minded peers in the same field, where they could share the wisdom and experience they’ve gained over the years. Together, TCM experts could advance and accelerate the development and evolution of the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine with cross-disciplined knowledge combined together as a whole.
The conferences are also a great channel for the general public to learn more about TCM; they can obtain unique opportunities to observe and learn from the best TCM scholars from around the world while they share professional techniques and secret wisdoms to their success!
2009 International Convention of Traditional Medicine & Manual Techniques
TCM scholars and practitioners from around the globe participated as some of the top-tier experts in the field of TCM gave keynote and presentation at the 2009 International Convention of Traditional Medicine & Manual Techniques (ICTMMT 2009).
2011 International Convention of Traditional Medicine & Manual Techniques
2011 International Convention Traditional Medicine was held in Toronto, Canada on the first week of August, 2011. The Convention was jointly organized by Chengdu University of TCM and International Association of Acupuncture & Moxibustion Manipulative Techniques and hosted by Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Canada), and United Alliance of NYS Licensed Acupuncturist (U.S.A.). The focus at the convention was on The Traditional Medicine and development, promoting the progress of standardisation and internationalisation.
2011 International Convention Traditional Medicine gathered the top experts from all over the world. Prof Zhang Jin, an internationally well-known expert in Acupuncture Technique was present to guide throughout the Conference. Chengdu University of TCM Professor Liang Fanrong, Vice-president, led his research team; report their latest research on meridians. It was a showcase and exhibition of various schools of Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Tuina massage Acupressure technique, Chinese medical traumatology and classic osteopathy of North American, TCM Cosmetology techniques, Qi Gong, Tai-Chi, Emotional therapy and Hypnosis.
August is the best time in Toronto for the glamorous Lake Ontario and World Wonder of Niagara Falls. Our fellows of TCM practitioners in Toronto welcomed the guests around world with highest honour and sincerity. We are happy to report the great success of this spectacular conference.

Prof. Jin Zhang(Harbin, China) – Inscription of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of Traditional Chinese Medicine as Representative of “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Prof. Jin Zhang is world renowned for his expertise in Acupuncture and Moxibustion, particularly in Advanced Manipulation Techniques. He is currently the Chief Doctor and Professor at TCM Academy of Heilongjiang Province, Professor of Henan University of TCM and Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. Dr. Zhang has worked for over 60 years on the advancement of TCM worldwide, through countless hours of practice, research and dedication on a number of TCM Associations, including his roles as a Board Member of All-China Zhen-Jiu (Acupuncture & Moxibustion) Association and President of the International Association of Acupuncture & Moxibustion Manipulation Techniques. Dr. Li Ying, PhD, is Professor and supervisor of MD and PhD students – She is currently employed as the Vice-president at Chengdu University of Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Tuina department/Third affiliate Hospital. She participates in the national “973 Program” and is in charge of key projects in Tenth Five andNational Natural Science Foundation. She is also involved with the World Health Organization (WHO).
