Clinical Neijing Diagnosis & Needling
ENR-1013-1015 | Clinical NeiJing Diagnosis & Needling
with Professor Jesse Lown (R.TCMP, R.Ac) 30hrs ONLINE WHEN: Thursdays 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM , June 23rd - August 11th
COST: $390 While the Huangdi Neijing is considered a foundational text of Chinese Medicine, many of its clinical perspectives are not commonly employed. The style of writing, the abstract nature of some of the content, and the ongoing development of TCM in general, have left many of the clinical perspectives introduced in the Neijing lost to time. This advanced course will introduce a clinical approach to implementing Huangdi Neijing diagnostic and treatment principles. While the Neijing is rich with this information, it is not entirely clear in the text how to bring many of these ideas into practical application. Included will be a review of diagnostic terminology, as well as Neijing specific clinical note keeping methods. This course is a key to unlocking Neijing medical principles and integrating them into the standard clinical framework of TCM. The needling portion of this course will focus on the various needle methods of the Huangdi Neijing. In particular, the specific application of various needle arrangements and manipulation techniques. As well, some of the supporting literature regarding self cultivation to improve needle application will be discussed. This course is an important step in reviving many forgotten yet clinically practical treatment methods. Many of these methods are based on needle strategies outside of the standard TCM point function method, and instead focus on tissue types, local tissue conditions, and functional problems related to presentation of symptoms.
